My story
I'm Serena, a licensed esthetician and beauty science enthusiast in Austin, TX, and I'm so incredibly excited to welcome you to Love Letter Aesthetics!
I started this business for anyone who has ever felt hopeless about their skin. I personally developed severe acne in my late teens, and it felt like no matter what I tried, nothing helped; and if it did, it came with more side effects than I wanted to deal with. I tried medication after medication, and saw several dermatologists who were, ultimately, dismissive of me and my skin issues.
After that experience, I realized that if I wanted to heal my skin, I needed to put in the work to figure it out for myself. So I did! I ended up falling in love with all things skin along the way, started talking about it (for probably far too long, honestly) to anyone who would listen, and here we are!
A little more about me:

My approach to skincare is gentle, non-judgmental, and educational. I try to create a space where your skin is nourished, supported, and celebrated (like a love letter to your skin, if you will <3).

One of my absolute favorite things about what I do is the amazing, real connections and conversations I get to have with my clients :')

I also love doing lash lifts and brow laminations! They're so relaxing and methodical to perform, it makes my brain happy. Plus, the results are always stunning!

When I’m not providing treatments or reading up on skincare trends, I love binge-watching cozy movies (Howl's Moving Castle is my fav), thrifting, or exploring cute local bakeries and coffee shops around Austin with my husband!
My philosophy
When I was first trying to figure out how to heal my skin, I encountered thousands of different methods, pieces of advice, and quick-fix remedies from every direction, and I know I'm not the only one:
"You just need to drink more water and wash your face every day."
"I swear this incredible supplement/product/essential oil will cure your acne overnight!"
"You have to cut out dairy, gluten, sugar, caffeine, parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, and everything joyful in your life if you want clear skin." (Okay, maybe not verbatim, but that’s how it felt to me!)
Unfortunately, this is still the norm, but the experience did inspire me to dig deeper. I'm now so passionate about skin science, ingredients, formulations, and especially debunking misinformation in the beauty space. My goal as an esthetician is to be the change I want to see in the industry.
At Love Letter Aesthetics, my mission is to provide you with the real truth behind the marketing, fear-mongering, and misinformation prevalent in the beauty industry.
Ethical, accessible, science-backed treatments and unbiased education are the foundation of everything I do here. I want to teach you how to care for your skin in a way that works for you, your lifestyle, and your unique skin needs.
